As a teenage girl, there’s no doubt that your car is an important and special part of your life.
You spend loads of time there, it carries all your precious stuff, and you cherish that space like none other.
It’s probably the place you’ve cried in, and most definitely the place you’ve made some fun memories.
But what should you keep in a place that’s so important and special?
Our answer comes in a few categories: things to keep you safe and things to keep you comfy. Both of these are crucial since they ultimately affect your driving.
Then there’s also some nice-to-haves and a few things to keep you organized.
Below is our ultimate list of car essentials for teenage girls.

A Portable Jump Starter
This small device is POWERFUL.
- jump start your car battery without needing help
- charge all your devices
- use the flash light to find items in the dark, or change a tire
The Non-Negotiables
Safety Essentials
The old phrase says ‘safety first ’, and we still believe it to be true.

Car Escape Tool
“Exactly what it sounds like”
Break windows and cut seatbelts — the two things that can keep you trapped in an emergency.

Car Jack Kit
Your tire can go flat at literally the worst time ever. You should always have a spare tire and the tools you need to change it.

First Aid Kit
You can buy a pre-made first aid kit or put one together yourself. You might also want to add in some painkillers, an EpiPen, or any other item you think you need.

Jumper Cables
If you don't have a portable jump starter (see above), you'll need a set of jumper cables — especially if you live in an area with colder winters.

Flashlight
This will come in handy when doing anything after sunset — like finding your keys!

Charger
Ensure that your phone stays charged so you can use GPS, or call someone in the event of an emergency.
Water
Keep at least 1L of clean water in your trunk at all times. This will come in handy if you ever need to wash your hands, eyes, or a wound, cool your car engine (if you don't have coolant), and much more.
Extra Cash
“Use for emergencies, not snacks!”
Keep this out of sight so you don't tempt thieves.. or yourself.
Comfort Essentials
Being uncomfortable while driving can be distracting… so let's get comfy

Hygiene Bag
Keep a toothbrush, a mini tube of toothpaste, pads/ tampons, deodorant, extra underwear, and anything else you think you need.
Good To Have
These make life just a little better

Sunglasses
“They don't just make you look cool”
They're also really useful for protecting your eyes from the sun, so you can focus on the road ahead of you.

Snacks
Keeping cereal/ granola bars is a healthy and affordable way to keep hunger at bay.
A Change of Clothes
“Outfit mishaps happen to all of us”
There's no harm in having an extra pair of shoes, and clothes in your car. You'll be thankful to have something else to wear when you need it.
Organization Essentials
Stay organized. Stay mess-free.

Car Trunk Organizer
Perfect for organizing items like your trunk like your blanket, jumper cables, first aid kit, and car jack.
