"Women need to do more than just drive a car. They need to understand them too."
Founded in 2021, Girls Who Drive started as a casual blog created to help sell cute custom license plates.
At the time, it's founder, Sigidi Jn Francois, had no idea what she was walking into: a massive void in the automotive world.
It was loud, but it wasn’t speaking to the millions of women who get behind the wheel every single day. Far less the millions of girls who start their driving journey every year.
Growing up as one of two daughters, Sigidi’s father always emphasized the importance of women needing to do more than just drive a car.
They needed to understand them too.
It is this lesson that pushed Girls Who Drive to what it is today.
Five years later, Girls Who Drive has helped over 200, 000 readers improve their driving skills, take a driver’s license photo they actually love, and become more confident drivers and car owners.
Every girl deserves to feel confident being more than a passenger. Passenger Princess by choice, not because you have to be.
Driving is a skill, not a talent. There is nothing about your gender that makes you less capable of learning a skill.
You don’t have to be a “car person” to be a capable car owner. And you definitely don’t have to be a guy to be a good driver.
